School and Learning Centre Lockdowns Lifted Following Reports of Gunshots Investigated

A school and at least one early learning centre in West Auckland were placed into “emergency lockdowns” on Monday morning following reports of gunshots nearby.
Huapai District School and Oma Rapeti Early Learning Centre Kumeu were in lockdown for over two hours.
All students and staff at both facilities are safe and accounted for.
A spokesperson for the police said that at 10.22am they received a report of gunshots at a residential property on Main Road, Huapai.
At 12.30pm the lockdown was lifted.
